Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp trek from Kathmandu is one of the classic adventures in the Himalayas. During the ABC trek, trekkers go on a lifetime journey via lush rhododendron forests and beautiful mountain villages to the lap of the tenth-highest mountain in the world, Annapurna Base Camp.

On this 14 days trek in Nepal, you will witness jaw-dropping landscapes that change from sub-tropical forests to snow-capped peaks. Following diverse terrain, the trail ascends via different climatic zones. You will explore the wilderness of the Annapurna Sanctuary and come across many exotic flora and fauna along the way.

What to expect during the Annapurna Base Camp trek 14 days?

The Annapurna Base Camp trail navigates varied terrain, including steep ascents and descents, stone staircases, and occasional rugged paths. The trekking route offers views of mountains like Annapurna (8,091 m/26,545 ft), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m/26,795 ft), Nilgiri (7,061 m/23,166 ft), Fishtail (6,993 m/22,943 ft), Hiunchuli (6,441 m/21,132 ft), Gangapurna (7,455 m/24,459 ft, and many others.

Likewise, the cultural immersion is also fantastic on this trek. You will meet with communities like Gurungs, Magars, and Thakalis. Get to see their traditional mountain life and culture. The entire trekking route is dotted with lodges run by locals, so you will get a comfortable and safe place to spend the nights.

Start the Annapurna Base Camp trek with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. From here, you will drive to Nayapul and begin trekking via lush forests and small settlements to Tikhedhunga. From here, climb numerous stone stairs to reach Ulleri (2,050 m/6,726 ft). Following dense rhododendron forests, you will reach Ghorepani (2,874 m/9,429 ft).

Catch a gorgeous sunrise from Poon Hill (3,210m/10,531 ft) and ascend to lower Sinuwa via Tadapani (2,630 m/8,628 ft). Keep trekking from here through the woodlands and enter Annapurna Sanctuary. Further, you will follow a narrow, steep track and go past Machhapuchhre Base Camp before arriving at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m/13,550 ft) for the night stay.

While returning, you will follow the same trail back to Bamboo. From here, trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780 m/5,840 ft), where you will get to enjoy natural hot springs. The next day, drive back to Pokhara. Spend one more night here before returning to Kathmandu. Explore tourist sites and local markets during your time in these two cities in Nepal.

Who can do the ABC trek?

The ABC trek is popular among trekkers of all ages and experience levels, making it accessible to a wide range of adventurers. Solo travelers, couples, families, and groups can do the Annapurna Base Camp trek.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek is moderate to moderately challenging. It is not an easy tour and demands long hours of walking each day. This trek is suitable for trekkers with a reasonable level of fitness. Beginner trekkers can do Annapurna Base Camp trekking with us.

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greet at airport by a representative of our firm, who will then take you to the hotel. we will have a welcome dinner at a reputable tourist restaurant close to the hotel, where we will talk about the complete schedule, and then we will move forward accordingly.

This is the day to prepare for your trip, hike and expedition. Your trip leader will inspect your gear to make sure you have what you need for the journey. If not, the leader will advise you to collect equipment that you may purchase or rent. 

We will plan a trip for you that includes a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath, also referred to as the Monkey Temple which is situated at UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will be able to engage with locals and witness Nepalese customs, culture and traditions during this tour. We then focus entirely on your adventure.

We'll set off on your tour with an early breakfast. You will board the Car or Bus and travel southwest of kathmandu. While travelling through the nearby villages, you will be treated to spectacular vista. Due to the lengthy travel to Pokhara, you will stop for Lunch. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you check into your hotel by evening, after while you can visit the stunning Fewa Lake and eat supper at a tourist restaurant before spending the night in a cosy hotel.

After an early breakfast, you will travel to Nayapul, which is located at an elevation of 1050 metres, via picturesque driving. then the journey will begin. It starts with a simple, sloping Jeep route that passes through the picturesque Gurung villages. After 2:30 hours of trekking, we typically stop for lunch at Hile, one of the most exquisite Gurung settlements. You will go to Tikhedhunga after lunch and cross two suspension bridges over the stunning waterfall. The final section of your steep trail then starts. Ulleri Ko Ukalo, which translates to "steep climbing of the Ulleri," is the name for this. You will be treated to a breath taking view of HieuchulI and Annapurna South as you approach Ulleri. Then you will stay overnight at a local guest house.

Today is almost a half-day trek, but there is still a bit of climbing, but not very hard. You will walk for about 45 minutes at first, passing through the settlements before entering the jungle. As you trek through beautiful Rododendron forests and pass through beautiful waterfalls, you will also see longur monkeys. In the middle of a jungle at Nange-Thanti, there are tea houses where you can take a quick tea break. then, by lunchtime, you will reach your final destination at Ghorepani. from where you will see the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Today your journey will start very early in the morning, even before breakfast with your head torch, because you will hike to Poon Hill for the panoramic view and sunrise over the mountain. It takes approximately more or less an hour; it depends on your speed. Once you've had your panoramic view, you should return to the Ghorepani guesthouse, eat breakfast, and then resume your hike towards Tadhapani.

Once again, your trek will begin with a steep climb to Gurung Hill via the gorgeous Rododendron Forest, where you will be offered to a breathtaking panoramic view. After that, you walk a very smooth up-and-down path to Deurali, where you can stop for a quick tea break. After your tea break, you will make a slightly steep descent to Banthanti, where you are going to stop for lunch. You will walk down the hill for around an hour after lunch. Then, you will need to climb a steep slope for an additional hour in order to reach Tadhapani, which is your ultimate destination.

Today, your trek begins with a steep descent to Kimrong Khola, where you will cross a suspension bridge. It takes around 2:30 hours to reach the bridge from Tadhapani. then you will walk an easy gradual up-and-down trail till beautiful Chhomrong village, where you have a lunch break and decent to Chhumrong Khola, cross the suspension bridge, and climb up to your final destination Lower Sinuwa.
