Trip Overview

On the Everest base camp trek, you will enjoy the convenience of well-maintained paths, cozy accommodations, and nourishing meals amidst the towering mountains and rugged terrain of the Himalayas. It is hands down one of the best treks in the world. A region where big dreams and hopes thrive.

Everest base camp trek leads to the lap of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest (8,849 m/29,032 ft), via lush rhododendron forests, picturesque villages, and the Khumbu Glacier. This 15 days Everest base camp trek is packed with adventure, intimate interactions with the locals, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural heritage.

Trekking to the Everest base camp is not technically challenging because you are not climbing a peak on this journey. However, every day you will trek for 6 hours while gaining elevation, which keeps the overall trek on the moderate to difficult side. We recommend the Everest base camp trek to anyone who is in good health and can walk 6 hours a day.

If you want to make your Everest base camp trek more adventurous, extend the trek to gorgeous Gokyo Lake or cross the Cho La pass. Likewise, experienced trekkers can also include the three passes in the itinerary.

Sherpa culture and mountain views

Sherpas are one of the biggest highlights of Everest (region) base camp trekking. They are an indigenous community of the Khumbu region and are known for their endurance and climbing skills. The Everest base camp trail goes through the beautiful Sherpa villages, where you will be spending the nights.

Likewise, the Everest base camp trek route is also scattered with old stupas, monasteries, and prayer flags. You will visit the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region, Tengboche monastery, en route to the Everest base camp. Likewise, our Everest base camp trek itinerary has two acclimatization days to avoid altitude sickness.

On the acclimatization days, you will hike to nearby viewpoints- Hotel Everest View (3,962 m/13,000 ft) and Nagarjuna Hill (5,100 m/16,732 ft), respectively. These hikes will not only let you adjust to the elevation, but also offer stunning mountain landscapes.

Some of the notable mountains seen during the Everest base camp trek are Thamserku (6,608 m/21,680 ft), Ama Dablam (6,812 m/22,349 ft), Lhotse (8,516 m/27,940 ft), Nuptse (7,861 m/25,791 ft), Everest (8,849 m/29,032 ft), Kanchenjunga (8,586 m/28,169 ft), etc.
