Trip Overview

Welcome to Tsum Valley; immerse yourself in the fascinating Tsum Valley trek located in the northern part of Gorkha district in Nepal. Tsum Valley Trek offers a thrilling journey to all trekkers where you will experience vibrant nature, Tibetan Buddhist culture, and dramatic landscape. Tsum Valley, also known as "The Hidden Valley," is a pristine and unspoiled gem in the Nepalese Himalayas.

The Tsum Valley trek is a recently opened trekking trail, a less visited route compared to the famous Annapurna and Everest region treks; this trek is still virgin with fewer trekkers. The trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Machhakhola village, which is situated at an elevation of 840 meters. Although you are going to high altitude, it is beneficial to begin the trek from low altitude, which means you will adjust to high altitude easily without altitude sickness.

You will be trekking through typical local villages where you will get an opportunity to interact with local people, and you will get to know their unique culture, tradition, and lifestyle. This delightful journey will take you into the majestic Himalayas, such as Boudha Himal, Sringi Himal, Kangaru, Cheo Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Himchuli. In the beggening sub tropical forest to the towering himalayas journey will amaze you.

Trekking Trail

You will start your trek from Machhakhola, which is situated at 840 meters above sea level. This trekking trail will leads the same path as Manaslu Circuit Trek till Lokpa Fedi. You will trek through local villages and along the Budi Gandiki River. Trekking trails are pretty difficult because you often need to climb steep, rocky stairs and cross thrilling suspension bridges, but they are doable for beginner trekkers.

Food and Accommodation

During this trek, you will stay at the locally owned guest houses. Accommodations are pretty basic, but still they will have private single, double, and triple bed rooms with mattress, bed sheet, and pillow; some of the hotels also have attached bathrooms, but you should book them in advance. All the hotels have their own restaurants that serve basic food and drinks. They mostly serve you Nepali food such as dal bhat, potato items, bread, and noodles, and also they try to serve western food, but they will have their own unique taste.

These are our regular itineraries; please feel free to contact with us if you would like to customise them to suit with your budget and timetable.

One of our company staff will receive you from the airport and transfer you to your hotel by private vehicle. Your hotel is located in Thamel, which is in the heart of Kathmandu city. In the evening we will collect you from the hotel and take you for a welcome dinner. During the dinner, we will brief you about the entire program, and then we will move forward accordingly.

Today is your preparation day. You will meet with your guide, who will brief you about the entire trip and check your gear to make sure you have enough equipment for the entire journey. If you don't have proper gear, then the guide will advise you to purchase enough. You can buy or rent from the trekking shop nearby the hotel.

We will take you on a short Kathmandu city tour. The tour guide will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is situated at a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will get an opportunity to engage with locals and witness Nepalese customs, culture, religion, and tradition during the tour.

The journey starts early morning from Kathmandu. You will be driving through Arughat and Soti Khola and enjoy a scenic drive to Machhakhola. You will traverse lush forests and charming villages, crossing several  rivers, to reach Machha Khola and spend your first night there. On the journey, you will stop for lunch and breakfast.
