A Beginner-Friendly Peak

The Yala Peak climbing trek is designed for beginners. It doesn't require technicle climbing skills.  Anyone with good health and a reasonable level of fitness can climb this peak. The altitude gain is gradual, which helps your body acclimatise without any risk.

The experience provides a great sense of accomplishment as you reach the summit of Yala Peak and are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains, including Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchempo, Lang Sisa-ri, Nayakhang Peak, and even Tibetan Himalayas in the distance.

Trek through beautiful villages.

The journey begins with a scenic drive through beautiful local villages, and the trek starts from Shyabru Besi, located in the Langtang National Park. You will trek, passing through beautiful waterfalls, lush forests, and quaint villages, and approach the heart of the Himalayas. As you trek, you'll pass through charming villages such as Rimche, Lama Hotel, Langtang village, and finally you will reach Kyanjin Gumba, offering a glimpse into the culture and lifestyle of the local Tamang people. The path leads through dense forests of bamboo, oak, rhododendron, and pine trees, and if you are lucky, you'll have the chance to see wildlife, red pandas, and monkeys.

One of the highlights of the Langtang Valley is the Langtang Lirung peak, towering above the Langtang village, standing at an elevation of 7234 m. The valley is famous for its alpine meadows, glaciers, and the warmth of its communities, making it a perfect setting for those new to trekking in Nepal.

Food and Accommodation During the Trip

Food and accommodation throughout the trip will be satisfying. While you won’t experience luxurious hotels, Ascent Adventures Nepal will make sure that you will have comfortable private rooms in the local guest house with basic amenities. The local foods are simple but hygienic; they offer a range of traditional Nepali meals like dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), momos, organic vegetables, loads of potato items, and even continental choices. These are our regular itineraries; please feel free to contact with us if you would like to customise them to suit with your budget and timetable.

One of our company staff will receive you from the airport and transfer you to your hotel by private vehicle. Your hotel is located in Thamel, which is in the heart of Kathmandu city. In the evening we will collect you from the hotel and take you for a welcome dinner. During the dinner, we will brief you about the entire program, and then we will move forward accordingly

Today is your preparation day. You will meet with your guide, who will brief you about the entire trip and check your gear to make sure you have enough equipment for the entire journey. If you don't have proper gear, then the guide will advise you to purchase enough. You can buy or rent from the trekking shop nearby the hotel.

We will take you on a short Kathmandu city tour. The tour guide will take you to Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is situated at a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will get an opportunity to engage with locals and witness Nepalese customs, culture, religion, and tradition during the tour.

Today you will embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Shyabrubesi by private vehicle. You will start after your hearty breakfast. The drive will take you through the heart of Nepal's countryside; you will pass by charming villages. Along the way, you will stop for your lunch at the local restaurant, where you will taste typical Nepali cuisine. After 5-6 hours of road journey, you will reach Shyabrubesi. You will check in at the guest house, and by the evening you will gather in the dining room for your dinner, and during the dinner your guide will brief you about the further program.

You will start your trek after your breakfast. Your trek from Shyabrubesi to Lama Hotel is an exciting journey through the heart of Langtang Valley. In the beginning, you will trek along the charming villages, and you will enter into the forests. You will cross several suspension bridges that offer stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. Along the way, the sound of cascading waterfalls enhances the peaceful atmosphere. You'll stop for lunch at Dobhan. After lunch, trails are pretty steep, but slow and steady will win the race. Between Dobhan and Lama Hotel, you will have high chances to see wild animals such as red pandas and monkeys.

Today, your trek begins after breakfast towards Langtang Village. In the beginning, the trail takes you through a lush forest, along the river, offering serene views of peaceful nature. The path is steeper before reaching Ghodatabela; it requires some effort to navigate. While you reach Ghoda Tabela, you will start seeing stunning mountain views where you will stop for lunch.  After Ghoda Tabela, the trail becomes more gradual and a mix of ascending and descending.

Before reaching Langtang Village, you'll cross a significant landslide area, a site of tragic loss during the 2019 earthquake. Thankfully, the area has been rebuilt in a safer location, ensuring the path is now secure for trekkers.

Trekking from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gumba is a beautiful and relatively easy hike, perfect for those looking to enjoy stunning mountain views without strenuous effort. The trail is well-marked, offering a gentle ascent along the river and picturesque valleys and passing through Buddhist stupas and chortens. As you trek, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchempo, and the opportunity to spot local wildlife. The hike takes about three hours, and you'll reach Kyanjin Gumba at lunchtime. This peaceful monastery, nestled in a serene valley, offers the perfect place to rest and take in the beauty of the Himalayas.

Today, you will have an exciting day at Kyangin Gumba. You will choose to hike either to Kyangin Ri or Tsergo Ri; it depends on you. Tsergo Ri is more challenging than Kyangin Ri; both viewpoints promise stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. This hike is very important for acclimatisation, perfect preparation for Yala Peak climbing. Along with the hike, you'll have time to explore the peaceful village of Kyangin Gumbe. You will experience its peaceful atmosphere.

Today you will trek to Yala Peak base camp; it will take you approximately 3-4 hours. The trail is not too difficult; it is moderate. You will reach the base camp during lunchtime. Upon arrival at base camp, all your base camp staff will get everything ready, such as the tented camp and food. After lunch, you will practice some climbing technique with your climbing guides. You will have an early dinner and sleep early because you have to start early in the morning.

After a light breakfast, the Yala Peak summit push begins at 2 AM with your headlamp. You need to ascend approximately 770 meters above base camp to reach the top. In the beginning, terrains are pretty easy, and the climb grows more challenging as you approach the summit. While you reach the top, you will have stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Mount Shisabangma (8,027 meters).

After soaking in the stunning scenery, you will begin your descent back to base camp. While you arrive at base camp, your lunch will be ready, and after lunch, you will continue your trek back to Kyangin Gumba. 

After breakfast, you will trek back to Lama Hotel. You will trek back the same way along to Langtang village and Ghoda Tabela, where you will stop for your lunch.

After breakfast, you will trek to Thulo Shyabru. You will trek back the same way along to Bamboo, where you will stop for your lunch. After Pahire you will climb to Thulo Shyabru where you will have a different scenery and landscape. Thulo shyabru is inhabited by Tamang community where you will have different experience.

After breakfast, you will trek to Dhunche, which will take you around 2 hours. Trails are easy, gradual, and flat along the villages. While you reach Dhunche, your private vehicle will be waiting for you, and you will drive back to Kathmandu. You will stay overnight in Kathmandu at a comfortable 4-star category hotel.
